Detailed instructions for Go Daddy customers: Setting up CName

Please note, if you have issues setting up your CNAME, please contact Go Daddy directly for assistance.

First, create a CNAME with Go Daddy:

  1. Log in to your domain account at www.godaddy.com.
  2. Open the Domains tab and select My Domain Names. You'll be directed to the Domain Managerpage.
  3. Click the domain that you'd like to use with your blog.
  4. Click the Total DNS Control And MX Records link at the bottom of the section entitled Total DNS.
  5. Click Add New CNAME Record in the box labelled CNAMES (aliases). For the Name, enter only the subdomain of the address you want to use for your job site. For example, if you picked www.myjobsite.com as your address, enter www here.
  6. Enter yourjobamatichostname.jobamatic.com as the Host Name. Specify a TTL or use the default setting of 1 hour.
  7. Click OK, and then click OK again.

Next, configure Job-a-matic for your CNAME:

  1. Log-in to your jobamatic.com account.
  2. Click on the Configuration tab.
  3. Under Name & Pricing find the field that labeled Domain Name.
  4. Enter your CNAME (for example, www.myjobsite.com) and click Save Changes.
